WORD

“Whoever does not carry his own cross and come after me cannot be my disciple.”

1.    Be humble of heart for this is the work of My true followers.
2.    Bear all your trials for your reward will be great in heaven.

DIRECTIONS:

1.    Reconcile with God and with others, accepting them as they are.
2.    Be good stewards, doing the works for God with humble hearts.

THEMES AND PROMISES

Week#1 (22nd Sunday in Ordinary Time)      
Theme: We bear the nature and character of Jesus when we are humble of heart.
Promise: “Humble yourself the more, the greater you are, and you will find favor with God.” (Sir 3:18)

Week#2 (23rd Sunday in Ordinary Time)   
Theme: We bear the nature and character of Jesus when we suffer for His sake.
Promise: “And may the gracious care of the Lord our God be ours; prosper the works of our hands for us.”  (Ps 90:17)

Week#3 (24th Sunday in Ordinary Time)  
Theme: We bear the nature and character of Jesus when we reconcile ourselves to God and to others, unconditionally.
Promise: “… there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents.”  (Lk 15:7)

Week#4 (25th Sunday in Ordinary Time)
Theme: We bear the nature and character of Jesus when we are trustworthy stewards of His resources.
Promise: “He raises up the lowly from the dust; from the dunghill he lifts up the poor to seat them with princes, with the princes of his own people.”  (Ps 113:7-8)

Week#5 (26th Sunday in Ordinary Time)      
Theme: We bear the nature and character of Jesus when we share our blessings with the poor.
Promise: “Blessed is he who keeps faith forever, secures justice for the oppressed, gives food to the hungry. The Lord sets captives free.”  (Ps 146:7)
