COMMUNITY WORD
Believing in Jesus, the Bread of Life, nourishes us for eternal life.
ORDER:
“…work for food that endures for eternal life, which the Son of Man will give you. For on him the Father, God, has set his seal.” (Jn 6:27)
PROPHECIES:
1. Make my word come alive in your life; receive the Bread of Life that I provide so you will never go hungry.
DIRECTIONS:
1. Frequently receive Jesus in Holy Communion and be transformed into His image and likeness.
2. Testify and be a good witness to the good works of the Lord in your life.
3. Strengthen the poverty alleviation program of your District.
THEMES AND PROMISES
Week#1 (18th Sunday in Ordinary Time)
Theme: We are nourished for eternal life when we live in God’s righteousness.
Promise: “I am the bread of life, whoever comes to me will never hunger and whoever believes in me will never thirst.” (Jn 6:35)
Week#2 (19th Sunday in Ordinary Time)
Theme: We are nourished for eternal life when we worthily partake of the Holy Eucharist.
Promise: “… whoever eats this bread will live forever.” (Jn 6:51b)
Week#3 (Solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary)
Theme: We are nourished for eternal life when we, like Mary, humbly obey God’s word.
Promise: “Blessed are you who believed that what was spoken to you by the Lord would be fulfilled.” (Lk 1:45)
Week#4 21st Sunday in Ordinary Time)
Theme: We are nourished for eternal life when we accept and follow Jesus, the Holy One of God.
Promise: “Many are the troubles of the just one but… the Lord delivers him.” (Ps 34:20)
Week#5 22nd Sunday in Ordinary Time)
Theme: We are nourished for eternal life when we honor God’s commandments.
Promise: “Whoever walks blamelessly and does justice; who thinks the truth in his heart…shall never be disturbed.” (Ps 15:2, 5b)
