CSL CHRISTMAS MESSAGE 2022

“All the ends of the earth will behold the salvation of our God.” (Is 52:10b)
After several weeks of Advent, preparing our hearts and mindsto welcome Jesus, the Light of the
world, we now celebrate His birth to commemorate the day when He was born to us as our
Savior. Our Community Word for December tells us – The Nativity of Jesus, our Emmanuel, brings
salvation to His people. Above all the festive mood and preparations, there is only one reason for
the season and that is, to celebrate our Messiah, Jesus Christ, who was born to a Virgin in a
humble manger and first announced to the shepherds by the angel, “Be not afraid; for behold, I
bring you good news of great joy… for to you is born this day a Saviour, who is Christ the Lord.”

Christmas Day is the fulfilment of God’s promise that He would send His only Son to redeem the
world and bring us back to His eternal kingdom, all because He loves us all so unconditionally.
Jesus is the revelation of God’s love for mankind. It is therefore a joyous time to celebrate and
be grateful that we are able to experience the fullness of God’s grace in Jesus Christ.

As we recall Jesus’ birth each year, let us remember His sacrificial love and His salvific mission on
earth. More than the gifts and gatherings, let us long to spend more time with our Lord Jesus. He
is the real Gift we should share with our loved ones, especially those who need Him most. Let us
welcome Him in our homes with joy in our hearts, despite the many challenges we experienced
during the past year.

Let us never cease to be grateful to God for all His blessings, most especially for giving us the
courage and strength to remain faithful, for bringing hope when there were times to despair, and
to remain loving and caring even when we felt unappreciated.

May we all experience a holy, blessed and joyful celebration of Christmas through God’s precious
Gift, the Gift of Jesus Christ!

A Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to one and all!
