BLD Baguio Elevated to Full-fledged District…
Last September 1, 2012, the ECSL approved the elevation of BLD Baguio to full-fledged district status bringing the total number of BLD Full-fledged Districts to 21.
The evaluation and endorsement made by BLD Manila, its Administering District, showed that BLD Baguio has met all criteria and is ready to be on its own in responding to the BLD Vision and Mission. BLD Baguio was established as a District in Process on July 12, 1998 when they had their first ME. The ECSL gave this encouragement to the members of BLD Baguio from 1 Peter 2:9: “You are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God, that you may declare the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His wonderful light.”
On November 8, 2012, after prayers and discernment, the following were emerged as BLD Baguio’s first set of District Council of Stewards (DCS):
• Tom and Millet Bautista – Evangelization Stewards
• Paul and Jill Tang – Formation Stewards
• Dong and Emily Tayco – Management Stewards
• Ric and Prose Ruiz – Mission Stewards
• John and Mavic Mina – Pastoral Stewards
Likewise, Bishop Carlito J. Cenzon, Diocese of Baguio appointed Fr. Manual G. Flores, Jr. as the new District Spiritual Director of BLD Baguio.
With the elevation of BLD Baguio as a Full-fledged District, the Cluster of BLD Manila under its present District Servant Leader (DSL), Ray and Susan Fragante, is now composed of 1 full-term district – BLD Manila, 4 full-fledged districts – BLD Laoag, Malolos, Lipa and Baguio and 2 DIP’s – BLD Iba-Olongapo and Imus.
