On August 4, 2016, the BLD Community, spearheaded by its present Council of Servant Leaders (CSL), held a groundbreaking ceremony to jumpstart the construction of a church beside the BLD Covenant House and Retreat Center in Dasmariñas City, Cavite.  It was presided over by BLD’s Community Spiritual Director, Archbishop Angel N. Lagdameo, D.D. and witnessed by the CSL, Covenant House Staff, and members of the Project Team.  A thanksgiving mass was celebrated by Archbishop Lagdameo and concelebrated by his secretary and vice-chancellor, Fr. Jayr Marcelino.

For over 15 years now, the BLD Covenant House has become a source of blessings for many BLD families, married couples, solo parents, singles and youth whose lives were changed and renewed after encounter weekends with the Lord; likewise, it has become a preferred venue for retreats, seminars and conferences by several other Christian communities, parishes, schools, institutions and other organizations.

Archbishop Lagdameo has envisioned the Covenant House to be a complete Prayer Sanctuary and it has been his ardent desire to have a church with a multi-purpose hall, be built within the area.  This House of Prayer is intended not only for BLD members, but for neighboring barangays and other religious groups as well, who seek to enrich their spiritual lives.  He has therefore put to task the BLD Council of Servant Leaders to undertake the construction of the project.  The Church will have a 300-seating capacity with a Multi-Purpose Hall that can accommodate 500 attendees. The project is estimated to cost 30 Million Pesos.

The word of the Lord in Deuteronomy 8:18 is promised to all generous donors:  “You shall remember the Lord your God, for it is He who gives you power to get wealth, that He may confirm His covenant that He swore to your fathers, as it is this day.”
