PASTORAL MESSAGE

You must have been watching and following the saddening events that have happened in the Cathedral of Our Lady of Mount Carmel in Jolo, Sulu while a Sunday Mass was going on, which took the lives of twenty seven persons, many of them regular Mass goers and members of the Parish Pastoral Council and others from our service men who were supposed to be the first responders after the first explosion took place inside the church.

The best response we can make at the moment is to pray for the repose of the souls of those who have died as well as for their families they have left behind, for the wounded and those who have survived from the bombing which have caused them so much trauma. Furthermore, we also pray that those responsible for such a terroristic attack be brought to justice and that all those involved in the event, work for PEACE as well as UNITY and MUTUAL UNDERSTANDING.

May our Government and the Leaders involved discover the Wisdom of God which will help them in their effort and campaign for Peace.

I encourage the BLD Communities to offer prayers, the Litany of the Saints, the Rosary and Masses for Jolo, Sulu, the whole of Mindanao and our country.

We place ourselves under the Motherly protection of Our Lady of Peace.
