CHRIST THE HEALER

Lately, there have been a number of instances involving the health condition of our friends (and their relatives) in the Community. We profoundly commiserate with their situation and intercede for God’s mercy and healing grace.
As an inspiration, we would like to share with them a healing experience of our Bro. Bong Cabrera, CSL for Evangelization. This happened during a Word Sharing Circle which he permitted to be shared to the Community as an affirmation that Christ, our loving God, is truly with us, especially during Holy Communion when,by transubstantiation, the bread and wine become the Body and Blood of the Lord.
Here is his story. One time, he woke up noticing a hard lump at his lower left jaw. He observed this for several days and it appeared to be getting worse. His wife, Andrei, also got alarmed and advised him to consult a doctor. Before doing so, he prayed fervently to the Lord Jesus while receiving the Holy Eucharist during the Holy Mass, believing with absolute faith that the Lord will hear his supplication. And indeed, the next morning, his affliction disappeared.
Just a few days ago, he felt a severe pain at his lower back and no amount of pain killer could alleviate it. Once again while receiving communion, he prayed to Jesus in a very personal way. He talked to Him about his severe back pain and beseeched Him to grant him relief. Right then and there, his back pain vanished.
In a solemn voice, during his sharing, he expressed his abounding gratitude to the Lord. He said that many of us do not appreciate the great miracle that come to pass during Consecration of the Holy Mass where the bread and wine become the Body and Blood of our Lord Jesus Christ. As this is the mystical and glorious moment where we not only encounter Jesus but He becomes one with us, this is the best occasion to commune with Him for our entreaty.

It may likewise be worthwhile to mention here the personal experience of our Bro. Ric Pascua, former CSL, which he narrated in one of his teachings in the Community. He shared that in one unimaginable and astonishing moment, as he received the Sacred Host, it suddenly moved and became real Flesh and Blood of Christ in his mouth causing him to kneel down and cry unabashedly.

Quoted here also in part is the Sworn Testimony of Bishop Roman Danylak from Toronto, Canada who concelebrated a mass at Naju, Korea on September 22, 1995, which was attended by Julia Kim, a known mystique and visionary.

“Following the Liturgy of the Word, I delivered a brief homily for the occasion. After the communion of the priests, Fr. Chang and I administered Holy Communion under both species to Julia Kim and the eleven others. As we continued the distribution of Holy Communion to the others present, we heard a sudden sobbing of one of the women assisting at Mass. The Sacred Host received by Julia was changed to living flesh and blood. Father Joseph Finn, who had remained at the altar during the communion of the faithful, was observing Julia; he noted that at the moment he turned to observe Julia, he saw the white edge of the host disappearing and changing into the substance of living flesh.”
“After Mass and thanksgiving, one of the women present, Michaeline from Tejan, gave testimony to a miraculous healing she had experienced at the time of the Consecration at this Mass. Over the previous ten days she had been suffering from intense back and shoulder pains. She was to go to the hospital for medical examination the following Monday. It was she that had cried out suddenly and began to sob, during the time of communion, when she observed and realized that the host was changing in Julia’s mouth.
For those with health problems, let us ruminate on this beautiful Gospel according to Mark last Sunday, October 28:
As Jesus was leaving Jericho with his disciples and a sizable crowd, Bartimaeus, a blind man, the son of Timaeus, sat by the roadside begging. On hearing that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to cry out and say, “Jesus, Son of David, have pity on me.” And many rebuked him, telling him to be silent. But he kept calling out all the more,”Son of David, have pity on me.” Jesus stopped and said, “call him.”So they called the blind man, saying to him, “Take courage; get up, Jesus is calling you.”He threw aside his cloak, sprang up, and came to Jesus.Jesus said to him in reply, “What do you want me to do for you?”The blind man replied to him, “Master, I want to see.” Jesus told him, “go your way; your faith has saved you.” Immediately he received his sightand followed him on the way.
